2026 mazda cx-5 bigger ...better ??
At nearly 73 years old it's doubtful I'll ever purchase another new vehicle.
Having 3 people pull out in front of me today on a short ride to the local farm stand further enforces that.
All three had a straight line of sight to me, stopped at the stop signs and then pulled out, all acknowledged they were wrong.
But that mattered little to me and wife who screamed all three times or my loss of rubber and brake pad materials.
I'm not brand loyal; I chose my 2020 CX-5 based on other comparable models that year that had my preferences and were within my budget.
The only US branded manufacturer to make a similar style/size vehicle that year was the Ford Escape.
I used multiple reference sources to obtain what I believed to be the best choice.
Had I only used NHSTA info below, which some members prefer, it would have only further confirmed my choice.

I have done this type of research above on every "daily driver/rider" vehicle I've purchased in the past 20 years and will do the same on any future vehicle I may purchase.
Others can and do whatever puts their "pedal to the metal".
I will note that I have purchased many of my recreational vehicles based on a completely different set of criteria, which have zero to do with daily driving or riding or anything related to it.
And still, all but 2 of them were foreign made

I've been surprised at how good the Jeep has been. I bought it new after retiring as a travel vehicle with off-road capability. It had a few glitches when new which were resolved, but, now, I generally only use it for travel and in the winter when the MX5 is in storage and my wife wants to have the CX5 available, otherwise the CX5 is my normal vehicle unless the weather is good and I don't have to carry or I just want to go for a fun drive in which case the MX5 is my vehicle of choice.
Like you, I don't expect to purchase another new vehicle and hope that my good luck with these three continues. I haven't avoided US cars, but my favorites have all been Japanese ones.

My thought has always for some time been to double the basic traffic violation fines and make getting a drivers license a little more difficult and easier to loose.
These days these is not one day go by that someone owning a Tesla feel they own the road and will drag race me even if I am just casually driving to get to the next stop light or get ahead just to pull over to turn in front of me???? And they are all what appears over the age of 35?? lol
I think its time to insta an N2O purge valve to blow out the side of my Mazda and the nest time blow a shot of nitrous on them,, wont harm the car in any way but will scare the hell out of them.
-- I think the 911 is right there made in Germany next to the Miata-Japan-which if you have an older one - I can see why you avoid other cars --irreplaceable -- BUT some of the MBZ and BMW products have disappointed in the last decade --- Italy I would agree but only with the Pagani and the Ferrari -dont know about DeTomasso- think its bodys only ?- all other brands made in Italy are Stellantis products =Abarth, Alfa ,Fiat, Lancia , Maserati are Iffy at best --- even though Mazeratis have a Ferrari engine ....I havent owned one but owners say depreciation is steep and fast- Yeah the new car thing is tough --because if you total your ride and survive ---the plain fact you need transportation limits your research time to find a great used vehicle - I would like to list all the cars Ive had -the point -- they were all at one time pretty well made back in the day - I nabbed the 2025 CX5 and only found that disabling I-stop was needed -But go into a giant screen with literally everything in it --you lose me . After the N63 BMW twin turbo-V8 fiasco - I stay away from AG built stuff

A group of 32 racers (in training) went by my house this weekend and that is not uncommon.
While I'm all for safety rules and regulations, sometimes the opposite occurs when bills are passed.
We have to give them 3 feet of clearance when overtaking them in a motor vehicle.
Which on our narrow roads, often means crossing over the center line and/or using part of the opposing lane, which are both traffic violation, except in a passing zone.
Far too many of the bicyclist refuse to use the bike lane and/or chose to ride in the middle of the travel lane and do not obey traffic laws which they are supposed to do.
And unlike motor vehicles their bicycles are not required to be inspected or registered nor are they required to take any safety courses.
Like motor vehicles, all new boat operators and hunters in our state are required to complete safety courses or face violations, fines and possible jail time.
I'd like that for the bicycle riders

We pay taxes for their lane yet they really are never policed.I also lice in a city that is electric cart friendly and many areas they have their own lane but when none is available, they get to use the normal vehicle lane. And to make matter worst the CA limit for use on any road is 30mph. So by the time you get 2 people in them it's now a top speed of about 24 at best
Yup the guy kissing his car... ya thats you! lol
The more you respond the more you make it apparent the lack of real car enthusiast information you really know.
It best for you not to try so hard then it wont be obvious to other members.

you may want to get checked for a learning disability...not sure how many times i have to repeat myself to remind you that i'm not a car guy like my signature states...and not sure why a car enthusiast would assume that a non-car guy would possess car enthusiast information...guess that's a poor assumption on your part or it's the first thing i mentioned lol
