Default 2021 vs 2022 cx-5

Hi, sorry if this has been answered before and this is my first post....

I have a deposit on a 2021 CX-5 Carbon Turbo, and I heard that in 2022 Mazda upgraded a few things-- the suspension, the road noise, and some other things? Are the changes significant for me to instead consider a 2022 model?

Thank you !

You really need to test drive both.

f.I. I drove a newer CX50 and the wind noise is way louder than a CX5 to the point of unbearable. If the newer CX5 are made like the CX50 than a 2022 could be louder than a 2021.
could be bad designs, bad window/door seals, bad window/door installation, etc.and defects could occur in any models year.

Test drive both.

Dealer needs to make a sale either way.

In future, never put a deposit down on a used vehicle. Only deposits you should ever make are in the bank and for a house.

I agree with Kilroy22.
The only way for you to know is test drive both, as anything anyone else tells you is their personal opinion.
The 2022 turbo has updated the items you listed and has about 6 more hp.
Unless there are significant model changes (that need to "ironed out"), it generally is better to purchase the latest model year that is within your budget.

The 2021 Carbon Edition was the only year with the turbo as an option, so keep that in mind since the 2022s and up do not have a turbo paired to that trim. I have it and it's amazing overall. The road noise is mainly in the tires, and from experience in two of these cars the OEM tires suck. I don't hear much, if any road noise in my '21 Carbon Edition Turbo with a different set of tires (Kuhmo Crugers). The only reason I would consider a 2022 model year is if it's a similiar price with a higher trim & turbo.

But the turbo returns to the CE for '24! Albeit with a different color palate.
