Group 35 or 47? Mine is a bit over four years old and used in the South. Mazda dealer said it was good at 75% remaining life (!!!!). Advice? Will most likely change to Odyssey.
Not sure how they determine a 75% battery life?? that's not how a battery is tested??? It either will pass a load test or pass the longer testing version that requires actually having and knowing how to do the semi Old school battery testing. Nor is the estimated life of the battery because most owners as well part stores and even service shop do not know how to correctly find the actual date the battery was manufactured.
I prefer and use Optima batteries. I have many on bard add electronics and stereo amplifiers as well a 250amp at idle on demand Power Bastard's alternator/generator.
I do use an Odyssey in my MINI Cooper but it is as small as a Motorcycle battery and used in a very modified and performance upgraded electronic systems including a special custom-built starter for the engine that it currently in it. But never a full-sized Odyssey battery. So can't comment on the performance or anything else about them.
I have carried in my shops Interstate, AC Delco , Motorcraft and Optima Batteries (to name the betters ones) and sold hundreds of them. Most of the failures were due to owners needing there charging system serviced or the general state of owner's vehicles in poor service conditions. Generally speaking, most batteries that go less of them a reasonable life span are due too little to no periodic common-sense maintenance.
It's Group 35. We just changed it on my girlfriend's '21 CX-5 with a little over 70k miles. The original battery was only measured at 211 cold cranking amps which is really low. I grabbed a Goodyear battery on Amazon for $199 since I had a $72 promotional credit that needed to be used on there. It's working great and is an AGM battery, which is a big positive (no pun intended lol).

For a Mazda, Group 35 is the correct size. Group 47 is smaller and may not provide enough power. At four years old in the South, 75% life is optimistic; heat ages batteries faster. Switching to an Odyssey AGM battery is a good move. It has longer life, better heat tolerance, and more reliable starting power. Make sure it physically fits and the terminals match.

Welcome to the forum..
just curious does your coolant temperature exceed 220 f there in the south. If that’s where you reside ? And where you live does the ambient temperature exceed 110f or more during the summer?
No to both questions. Although, 'ambient' temps when outside in the sun could certainly reach 110 deg F under the hood of my black car.
The thermostat in a Skyactiv N/A Mazda gas engine is 195f . The operating temperature of coolant during summer in areas ambient ubove 90f will be 190f without AC. With AC it reaches min 195f and up to 210f . The under hood temperature even in Those conditions would rarely not exceed 220f if the HVAC was used . The battery is semi insulated by design from Mazda in its mounted area and if a quality battery is used can last 5 years or more in that environment.
While heat does effect a batteries life it is the least effect in Skyactiv N/A Mazda platforms.
Sorry about the guessing but you limited profile info was confusing
GB generally mean Great Britain (residence) but you showed USA (Location) and then added with * Bay St Luis ? ( average summer temperature 33c )
There is no "GB" state in the USA

I know the question wasn't directed at me, but I can say that even in the extreme heat of Florida, I never have seen my girlfriend's CX-5 go over halfway on the temp guage.
