Default 2020 CX-5 Remote Auto Start

Just bought a brand new 2020 cx-5 last week and was looking into installing a remote start. Is there a factory OEM one? Obviously I can go after market like a viper but that might void my warranty.

I am in the process of purchasing a 2020 CX-5 Signature and remote starting via smartphone app is a big must for me. Doesn't the 2020's have remote start capability thru the Mazda Connect app?

So have my new car - but the Remote Start is on hold as my dealer says they do not have the part in stock - and Mazda saying it is currently unavailable. Anyone else having any similar issue/delay on their end?

I've read many comments advising against the Mazda OEM remote start. We have purchased two CX-5s in the past 10 months, and installed Compustar remote start systems in both. Pricing is similar to Mazda or perhaps a bit less. We've been very happy with them, particularly their Drone Mobile app.

Was not able to find much on here; what is downside of the Mazda OEM remote start app?

Hi,

Any quirks? I had it in my last car (2007 CR-V) and liked it.

Is key bypass necessary? If you do a bypass, can I do a secure take-over without having my fob on me?

Thanks

When I asked my dealer about remote start, I was told there were two systems.
The one that works with your smart phone, they said was nothing but problems and
was 'on hold' for now from Mazda. The other system was back ordered.
Not sure which route I'm going to take but will need a system before winter sets in.

I had the dealer installed remote start it my Camry 2013 and it was just a simple 1-way remote start with no feedback and crappy range. That cost me $600. I got a similar quote for the CX5 I picked up a few weeks ago. And was told to steer clear of the cellular capable version for now.

I had the Compustar one installed in 2 of my cars in the last year and really liked it. I had the DroneMobile add-on installed in 1 car and its working perfectly fine almost a year and half since I installed it. Its a 2-way system with a pretty long range. And the cellphone/apple watch app is nice to be able to lock/unlock and remote start from anywhere in the world. I unlocked the car when I was traveling in South Africa.

The sale ended now but BB usually get this on sale for $250-$280 at least 2-3 times in a year with installation and warranty on the install included in the price. I was lucky to get in on this again a week or so ago. Just have to wait patiently for a few weeks to a few months to get an install date.
