Hi All, I need some help with my apple carplay. I can receive messages but cannot reply to any of them. Whenever I try it comes back with "cannot reply while driving, must use phone but I don't recommend it". It even does this when I'm in park. I use an up to date iphone 7 and do not have the do not disturb while driving on. Can anyone help? Thanks, Mark

 

whenever I reply in carplay, it is by voice only. Siri asks if you want ot reply, you say yes, and dictate the reply which is read back and then you are asked whether you wish to send it

 

Hi Chas2, After Siri reads the incoming message she asked me if I would like to reply. I then say "YES". She then thinks for a couple seconds then returns with "sorry i can't do that while you're driving, you will need to use your phone but i don't recommend it". I get this same message when I'm in park.

Go into your iPhone settings under “do not disturb” and change the “do not disturb while driving” to manually and unselect the “activate automatically with CarPlay” option.

 

Hi Nikki, I just checked my iphone setting and the "do not disturb while driving" was set to manually and the “activate automatically with CarPlay” option was unselected. Any other possibilities?
