Default 2019 CX-5 Touring Radio/Bluetooth

I just picked up a 2019 CX-5 Touring.

Unlike my other car, the Bluetooth connectivity from my Samsung S21 only works when I set the source to Bluetooth. In other words, If I'm listening to the FM radio, I can't hear google maps giving me directions! This is frustrating. Am I doing something wrong?

Also, is there a way to turn off the radio, other than muting it?

Thank you

Do you not have Android Auto?

If you have Android Auto, google maps will display on you screen and the voice will come thru the speakers regardless of what sound source you are on, AM/FM/USB/AUX/Bluetooth.

I do have android auto and have successfully connected via USB cable and Bluetooth, but Android Auto on the Mazda console screen is disabled under both apps and Settings/Devices.

Are you using a Genuine Samsung cable? Many aftermarket cables play havoc.

Have you download Android Auto onto your phone?

Might need a software update to your MZD system.

Mazda said I have the latest software already installed. I did manage to get android auto connected (via USB cable) but the Android auto screen says it needs me to turn on notification access from my phone, and gives me two choices: Exit or Go to Phone. Clicking Got to phone, whether the car is running (parked) or not running but with ignition on, gives me the message that for safety reasons I cant do that now! Frustrating! Besides I do have notifications turned on anyway.

Thanks

P.s. I finally got it working.
