2016 CX5 infotainment center failing to work properly at start up
My 2016 CX5's Infotainment center has been malfunctioning for about 3 months. When i start the vehicle the navigation system takes about 4 minutes to load up, all i get is the spinning circle until it loads. For the last 2 weeks, the screen now goes black, and shuts down on it's own, and restarts. I have to bring it to the dealer for an oil change in May. I hope this malfunction shows up at the dealer. Any ideas at what the problem could be? I have 84,000 miles on my CX5.
It's a defective SD card, remove it for a few days and test if infotainment still rebooting.
TSB was issued, I doubt they'll exchange it now since you're out of warranty but you could try. Download Mazda Toolbox backup card and restore to another 16Gb Class10 SD Card or clone it and use Toolbox to activate. Plenty of instructions and Ytube videos out there.
