2016 CX-5 GT tailgate opens by its own
Hello,
just got a 2016 CX-5 GT from auction. So it has some damages on the rear left side, but the accident did not damage the tailgate at all.
The car can be driven.
When I started the car and drove little bit (not in the streets
) the tailgate opened itself.
I tried to close it, but it won't close. The car was still running.
I switched off the car, tried to close the tailgate and it closed without any problem. So I guessed, it is not closing because the car was still running.
After few minutes of driving around, the tailgate opened itself again. And again, I could only close it if I switched off the car.
Has anybody noticed something similar?
There is no additional power open button on the keys. I only see Close / Open of car and the Hold button. No dedicated button for the tailgate.
any suggestions what it can be?
Thanks

There are a number of electronics that control the liftgate some of which are not located in the liftgate itself.
I'm "guessing" that is your issue as the liftgate is not supposed open on its own at any time, especially when driving.
