Hello,
Trying to get my daughters car back on the road to school tomorrow. So a little under the gun.

The passenger side CV Axle seal was leaking at the Transaxle/Differential so I replaced the seal and the CV Axle but unable to find any information on refilling the differential for the lost fluid. Can anyone point me to information on fluid type, fluid quantity, and fill location?

Thanks for sending, but I think that is for an AWD vehicle. Mine's a FWD.

I found the rest of the service manual online, but it doesn't state anything about specifically changing or filling the differential fluid on a FWD. It only states to drain and refill the transmission fluid, so I'm assuming the transmission and differential use the same fluid on a FWD.

I'm taking it into the dealership today to ask.

 

There are several companies that offer the fluids that meet or exceed the requirements of use by Mazda.

Many service intervals are based on the WARRANTY and not necessarily the use of the vehcle. It is always a better idea to change any and all fluids as well other service before the advised/recommended service information.

 

For future reference, my CX5, 2.5L, FWD shares the same fluid with the transmission and transaxle/Front differential. I topped off the transmission fluid and everything is working great.
