2015 CX-5 locking issues
Hello folks,
I spend the last 2 days googling and review all of the postings, but failed to find out what's wrong with the locking system on my 2015 CX-5 Touring AWD vehicle. Here's what working and not working:
1. Key fob locked and unlocked all the doors except for the driver side door and the rear hatch.
2. Same scenario with the spare fob.
3. replaced the battery of the fob, still has the same issue
4. All the doors locked while sitting inside of the car with an exception of the driver side door and the rear hatch.
5. Disconnect the battery for an hour. Connected the battery and the same issue is still there.
6. Checked and replaced the 25A fuse for power lock - Still same issue.
I am running out of ideas at this point and I hope someone that had this issue before can lead me to where or what I can check.
Thank you in advance. Have a great day!!

Can you at least manually unlock the door and hatch (if it's not a power liftgate)? I would try lubricating them if possible to see if it helps at all, and check the child lock on the door too. I'm not really sure what else it could be other than a power/vacuum issue.
he only thing I would make comment is DONT DISCONNECT THE BATTERY form any Mazda manufactured at least from 2011 to present when trying to solve a possible electrical problem or system trouble shoot. This has long been a MYTH on not only Mazda but many other platforms. Doing this procedure often has the chance of creating more problems and does nothing to solve existing ones only hides their problems temporarily.
Welcome to the forum
No 2 vehicles have the exact same problem technically speaking there are too many different variables. Maybe start you own thread and tell the forum your problem and vehcle information to it.

Yes, it has been resolved. To make a long story short, it was the wiring harness loom inside of the door that had 2-3 bad wires. Rather trace & splice wires, I just went went with new harness. The wiring harness was roughly around $120 with discount. I can look for the part number later if you needed.

If it was not you personally that did this then maybe post if it was the Mazda service department or an independent service shop.
That's what the Stealership told me. They told me that the wiring harness that was in there has been worked on and it doesn't like all that great. They gave me a quote for a new wiring harness and installation and I simply told them no. Drove the car for my friend body shop, we removed the door panel and the wiring harness. The wiring harness looked perfect in the naked eyes. My friend did some reading and I think he said the blue & brown wire doesn't have any values when tested. He thought that could be the issues, but he was not able to get the values or what they were supposed to be, only dealership has that info. Rather than spend more time on it, I asked him to order a new wiring harness under his shop for the discount. New wiring harness went in and everything worked like it was supposed to. The moral of the story is, I did part of the work myself with the help of my friend, I saved a few hundred bucks.

But if you continue, I will ask you what in your opinion let you to believe that happened? But your service about the harness is not exactly what the dealership stated on the service order. It is your interpretation!
As for the actual service related and replacing the harness section that would be in line with how all dealerships would perform that repair and this goes without saying a big difference between many independent service shops and dealerships that are under a totally different insurance coverage. There is even more to that, but you get what I am saying. I hope if not I can be clearer with more explanation!
As for your next stop as you placed it was a Friend! So, you don't really know what a non-friend in an independent service shop or auto electric shop might have charged you for diagnostic and repairing the issue.
If you want to debate or argue this point first post your actual work order from Mazda.
My basic point is like most electrical issues DIY do not have the experience to DIY and should at least go to a service shop to have the issue at least found and give that person the information at that point to decide if they have the know how to fix it?
As I often say on some service-related threads, if some problems are being asked how to fix it then it is likely not a DIY repairable service.
