Default 2015 CX-5 headlight conundrum

Hello all!
I have been reading up, soaking up your collective wisdom. Thanks for posting!
My front headlight failed. I looked up the parts, found H11 and 9005 bulbs and attempted to change them. I planned to change out the low and high beams on both sides. I watched YouTube videos, numerous times, before, during and after many attempts. No go. Bruises and ground teeth later, a neighbor tried to do it. He also failed. I took my 2015 CX-5 to the dealer. They told me the bulbs were not the correct ones and that a ballast was bad. They did not have the parts to repair it that day. The price to fix it far exceeds what I thought it might cost. I was browsing the Mazda-parts.com website and the diagram for the 2015 CX-5 has the bulbs I purchased listed as the parts needed. Can anyone give me some insight as to what might be going on in my car?

You don't say what model CX5 you have, but are you sure that you don't have the Xenon HID lights? Sounds like the dealer thinks you do.

They have not confirmed that with me, but I am sure that it what the issue is. Thanks for responding. I was so frustrated that noone there seemed to know that 2015 CX-5 came in two flavors.
