2013 Mazda cx-5 Starts then dies
A virtually perfect run-on sentence, and I'm not totally sure what you were trying to say....so here's my best shot; if there is smoke coming back through the intake through the air filter, that points to a serious mechanical issue, like valve train failures, or a massively leaking injector or bonkers fuel regulator, or something else allowing partially burnt fuel to burp in reverse up the intake manifold.. As someone else suggested, disconnect the MAF and see how it idles and accelerates. If no change, connect the MAF and disconnect the MAP. The RPM's will limited in either scenario, but if either sensor is causing the issue, it should idle and drive at moderate speeds very reasonably when the *defective* one is disconnected..
to do a basic check on compression and valve train, remove the fuel injector relay, and have someone audio record teh engine while you crank it over for 5 to 7 seconds. If you don't know how to interpret, then post the sound file to the thread.
