2013 cx5 oil leak up top back of motor
I sent my daughters cx5 in for a roaworthy certificate. A cpouple of issues with a cv bott and front diff bearing bush, neither of which i was concerned about. Not big $ to fix.
However the mechanic spotted a oil leak coming from the top back of the motor down onto the plastic cover under motor. cant be a bad leak as nothing dropping onto driveway but he knocked back the roadworthy until sorted and he doesnt know where its coming from. Local Mazda cant look at it until 16th February and i want car gone.
So after any insights as to where this oil might be coming from. makes it hard as its next to firewall. Open to suggestions please as Mazda will charge an arm and a leg. Thanks

Your Mazda needs to be up on a lift , remove the plastic under cover and you WILL find where the oil leak is coming from. Otherwise, it could be a baker's dozen ideas or more guessing from members of possible locations.
Your “mechanic” does not seem to know how to find an oil leak?
There are several places that can leak an some are not at the area of suspected but dripped on from one part to another.
There really is no such case of an engine oil leak on a production Dailey driver that can’t be found .
Back to your last question and again yes…..we get them all the time on various platforms and Mazdas encluding model of your year. Some leaks are cased from as simple as a bolt/ fastener that needs tightening to those mystery leak so that the ram air or radiator fan blows the oil leaking off to another area .
But not on your year and model MAZDA having a mystery leak that a “mechanic” can’t find ? Maybe time to find a better experienced shop or “mechanic”?
