Default 2013 Cx5 2.2d Oil Data Reset DIY procedure

Had a result in my search to find a way to reset the oil data your self without a visit to Mazda after doing a fit oil change thanks to someone helpful in the Facebook cx5 group. Just takes a few mins with a 30cm length of wire 😀👍
Official procedure

1. Ignition on.
2. Connect this terminal to ground.
3. Depress accelerator 5 times. (Confirmed by coil light flashing 5 times).
4. Remove link to ground.
5. Ignition off.
Job done .
Photos courtesy of the helpful guy on facebook.

Hopefully some others who wish to do their own oil changes will find this useful too.

Or, you just press the stalk on the top right corner of your instrument cluster and keep it pressed while you turn on the acc mode (press start button twice without your foot on any pedal). Keep pressing the stalk until the light on the instrument cluster flashes rapidly a few times and you’re done.

When I do this procedure with the wire to ground. The fan runs every time I depress the accelerator. Is this normal and is it resetting the sensor?
