So the wife accidentally hit the passenger side mirror exiting the garage and managed to crack the housing and shatter the glass... Local shop and Dealer both want $800+ to replace.

I'm wondering if anyone has done this DIY themselves or can point me to an assembly video/guide? I'm assuming I'll need to tear down the interior door trim to access the housing bolts to the mirror.

Was considering purchasing this https://www.1aauto.com/2017-18-mazda...9/1464897/2017 - seems to include everything including glass. Shops wanted $200 for glass and another $200 for the mirror housing.

 

For anyone looking how to do this, i was able to find a video after searching for door trim removal.
The process involves removing 2 hidden screws in door pocket and behind the handle.

I was able to successfully replace the mirror, but now my BSM light is showing off and no codes are being thrown... The Mazda dealer wants me to try installing OEM parts, which is a bummer. Based on my understanding I thought all the intelligent sensors were all in the bumper - so im a little skeptical since my aftermarket piece is suppose to support BSM.
