at the moment i have my garmin gps and radar detector plugged into the 12v socket in front of the shifter using a 12v splitter since that is accessory powered and shuts off when the car is shut off...i would like to plug these into the armrest 12v socket but it's always powered...the 2 usb c outlets in the arm rest are not always powered so i'm thinking of using 1 of these outlets with a splitter adapter since i have my phone cord plugged into the other for charging and carplay purposes...i have found a usb c male to two 12v female splitter adapter cord on amazon (link below)...not sure this will all fit into the armrest with all the other stuff i have stored in there due to the lack of space in the armrest...anyone have a better solution?

I highly recommend to use a separate wire(10gauge) directly connected to the battery and then run your fuse and accessory adapter. this way you are safe guarding your Mazda electrical fuse box .
These jump leads for this type of DIY electrical install is a bad idea!
The other thing if you are still under warranty and do not do a service install like I recommend your warranty covering several areas can by denied.
This takes a little longer to install . It is the center console area that normally does not have any electrical inlets/outlets. It has USB and large power supply port. The USB are used for charging. They are also constant power supply.
I also have a couple direct power non switched for USB charging for the passenger and drive, so I never have cables all over my dash and front compartment area. They are also constant power.

was not planning to do the jump leads shown in the video cause i don't want to void my warranty...not planning to go to the dealer as i could just keep everything plugged into the accessory powered 12v outlet in front of the shifter as it is now since it's working fine...i am planning on using this male usb c to dual female 12v adapter in one of the usb c outlets in the armrest instead to plug in my gps and radar detector so these devices go off shortly after the car is shut off...have not seen any other simple solutions for this poor design choice by mazda...
plugged in the 12v splitter adapter (male usb-c to two female 12v sockets) from the linked in my previous post above in the the armrest console 12v socket over the weekend and routed my wires into the arm rest console...worked great and turns off on a delay...will power up right when you open the door
I can only suggest that some DIY at least invest in this book and read it before attempting any electrical changes to the OEM platforms electrical system.
I can and may have to qualify this response depending of who responds and what is said. lol
I agree with Callisto that making connections in the fuse box as shown in the video is a very bad idea.
Check your 12V sockets (cigarette lighter plug) first.
In my European CX-5 from 2023 all three 12V sockets are switched off when the car is switched off.

You added accessories and at this point have shown no idea the maximum circuit safe output you installed a multiple use unit to. When you do that, you need to use basic intelligence to see what the total safe output is to know exactly what those limits to use none OEM electrical parts and accessories. And if any of those added accessories have any kind of motors you need to know the "exact" surge start electrical draw.

last i checked they don't put motors in radar detectors and gps units lol
