Default Headlights

Is there any way to KEEP the headlights OFF? They light up on their own when I don't need them, drives me nuts. Cannot find a way to KEEP them OFF!

Unfortunately, NO, you can't permanently turn off the headlights and keep them off. I find it's a PITA.

NOT KNOWING WHAT YEAR YOUR MAZDA IS makes it difficult to look things up pertains to your question
You seem to think that all Mazda in your model group are the same and refuse to post general information to help you! Stubborn!!
This only service answer for many is to give general answers and non specific

Generally speaking, and not sure your exact model Mazda because lack of information given by you....... generalized info but there is more complete instruction to do this.....a fuse or relay by-pass with a that still allows circuit protection but manually gives tou light on off control. This is NOT a DIY friendly install modification and really should be done by an individual experienced in automotive electronic modification or aftermarket electrical parts installations.
I have done this for a few close friends for both head light s DLR's.(day light running lights). The switch look like OEM and work perfectly.

I just found a settings option for this the other day! (Contextually, my CX-30 is a 2022) Main Menu-> Settings -> Vehicle Settings -> Exterior Lighting -> Daytime Running Lights. Unchecking that box should do the trick.

Thanks but I don't get that option. Maybe because I have the Select model which has fewer choices/options. Under lighting settings I only get two options to choose from for when the lights go on (sensitivity); either Low or High.
