Hey guys,

This morning I couldn’t get out of My 2020 mazda cx30 GX from inside from my driver’s door when everything was unlocked and windows were functional. i had to clinb over to the passenger’s side to get out. Once outside, I tried to open the driver’s door and it worked! Any ideas why? Should i bring it to the dealership for an inspection?

Was the ignition turned off? Was the park brake on?

 

Yes everything was turned off (so i guess the park brake was also on) because I had parked my car and ready to get out.

 

Did you push/pull the door lock tab before trying the door handle?

 

Did you ever figure this out? This just happened to me on my brand new. 2021 cx-30

 

Im really keen to hear this too because it’s just happened to me. Feels mechanical rather than electrical but wondering what the brains test says!

 

yes nothing worked. It seemed to be an issue during winter only… (canadian winter)

It seems to be an issue during winter only… (canadian winter) because now that the weather had gotten warmer, it never occured again

 

So you never had to take it to the dealer? Did it just start working again randomly? Did you do anything? I’m just about to go on a driving holiday and wondering if I need to try and book into a dealer. Of course it’s happened right before a 4 day weekend!!

 

Same thing just happened here. (I'm not a mechanic so correct terminology isn't going to be used) Took of the door panel to see whats going on ended up being the dowel holding the cable poped out of place due to the top cap of it braking off (some sort of cheap plastic that gets weak in the cold). I just put the dowel back in place with some heavy adhesive as the pieces doesn't need to rotate just not fall out of place. Hope this helps
