Default CX30 Ride Quality

Hi all I'm loving my CX30 GT Sport skyactive x 21 plate. The only downside is the very firm ride on the 215x55x18 wheels + tyres.

Would changing the wheels to 16 rims either 215 x 65 tyres make much difference worth the £800 outlay or is the suspension too stiff and any difference would only be marginal. Look foward to any tips, advice and suggestions!

Tires type (comfort or road noise rating) have the highest and direct influence on ride quality *not really the wheel size(*to some degree). Also by lowering the tire pressure to the safe minimum will directly influence the feel. But also may slightly increase MPG.

Thanks yes I have reduced the front to 33psi and the rear to 34.5psi and it's slightly better than the 36psi that were previously on all 4 tyres.

If you monitor and check the tire psi for changing influencers ......The Max. tire pressure less 4-6 lbs to account for heat normally developed in the tire by driving as well the ambientes and the temperature of the tarmac.

Remember the first effect of a lower tire pressure is a slight increase in steering feedback also a slight drop in MPG. Braking may not necessarily be affected depending on the actual tread design.

You may need to reset the TPMS
