2023 iPod USB Connection Problem
I've had my new 2023 CX30 for about a week and have discovered I cannot control my iPod Touch 6 through the audio system using the USB connection like I did with my 2020 CX30. When I connect it through BlueTooth it works. That disables the BlueTooth connection to my iPhone.
Has anyone else experienced this? I want to be able to control my iPod through USB so I can have my iPhone utilitize BlueTooth.
If anyone has experienced this, was there a resolution?
Many thanks.

In November of '23, I purchased a brand new 2024 Mazda 3 Hatchback Turbo. The car is pretty amazing but, like you, I cannot figure out how to link my fabulous iPod classic. My last car, a 2012 Honda Accord, had 2 usb ports and I simply connected my ipod through the usb. Imagine............ 12 years of fabulous music!!! Flash forward to now........ so, After spending numerous hours pulling out my scant hair that's left on my head in Frustration, I spoke to a guy who lives in New York and actually will modify older 256 iPods and turn them into 2 Terabytes and he swaps out the battery for a larger new one !!! iPods. His ipods are great. Anyway, I bounced this issue off him and he said: "Just purchase a Blu-Tooth adapter, which has only one iPod male plug in one end. When your iPod is fully charged my iPod will actually 'connect' to my Mazda 3 Media center. Music just plays. The screen says something like: "Unknown Blu-Tooth device connected and you are jammin' down the road! The one really frustrating issue is that it takes a while for the Mazda audio screen to actually detect the Blu-Tooth adapter (signal sender), so that's why I say to make sure your iPod is totally charged up. Since my modded ipod has a large new battery, it holds a charge for a long time and I can make an 160 mile slug in my car and the iPod stays on and connected via Blu-Tooth the entire time. As I said before, the Car works hard before it will detect the iPod's Blu-Tooth signal box and when you turn the engine OFF, the car drops the BT Signal.

Hi Reaper,
Eventually, everything becomes obsolete and that's why all of us are on this board looking to our fellow Mazda owners for help. Many times there are shade-Tree mechanics who have lots and lots of skills and a huge amount of patience. Some times those people are professionals in Auto Body, Paint, Engine Work and custom Audio! Most auto forums are a great place to meet people with similar instances and when I had my Honda Accord, I found the very same things on the Accord Board.
I have every confidence that there is someone out there who can help me (and us) trouble shoot our particular problems or quirks. We just have to find them! Someone who is a custom Car Audio installer would probably know how to run an extra USB wire from the Mazda radio head that could be used with an iPod to play a secondary source of audio.
I appreciate all comments and I will continue to search for someone that perhaps can point me in the right direction.
Have a great day. all.
