Default TRUCK IS FLOODED i THINK

Any suggestions on a truck that seems to be flooded. It only wants to try to crank if I floor it and then it wont even run. I let it sit for about an hour and then it cranked but when I cut it off, it would not start again.
Thanks

first you have to make sure if it's flooded or not. when she won't start, pull a spark plug or two to see if it's really flooded.

Is your spark timing correct? What kind of work has been done to the truck, was it running just fine then died?

The water/coolant temp sensor was just replace and it seemed to crank better but when I first started it, the truck was idling up on its own. It may be that the truck is supposedto do that but I'm not sure. What do you think? Also, if you slowly give it gas, it revs fine but if you hit the gas, it will stall for a second and then pick up. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Fuel injected or carb? If fuel injected, maybe a faulty injector. If carb, could be a stuck needle/seat.

Are you getting any kind of smoke out of the tailpipe? Specifically black smoke and a rich fuel smell? Sounds like you are getting too much fuel in your lower rpm range. Does it completely smooth out higher in the revs?
