truck died this morning, have some questions
Well, my truck died on me this morning on my way to work. I'm pretty sure it's either the fuel pump or the fuel filter. I bought both parts today and I'm going to go fix it tomorrow.
Can anyone tell me where these two parts are located on an 89 B2200? It's a manual tranny and I bought the mechanical fuel pump because I'm pretty sure it's not in the tank because I've replaced the fuel tank. If anybody has any incite, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

RE: truck died this morning, have some questions
Well, I just found out that it is the mechanical pump on the side of the block. So I should be fine. I'm going to be replacing the pump and the filter so hopefully this fixes the problem. I found out that the AT and the MT fuel system setup is completely different and the MT trucks have the mechanical pumps.

Yes. Just replaced the pump and filter this morning and didn't fix the problem. I'm now thinking it's the sending unit, because when we replaced the fuel tank, we broke the tubes off of the sending unit so we had to solder them back on and it took forever to get them to stick. So I'm thinking those tubes broke because when we tried starting it, we took the fuel lines off of the new filter and the lines were completely dry. So I think it's safe to assume that the sending unit is busted and it's not sending any gas to the engine.
