Post Rpm gauge bouncing

My Rpm gauge bounces back and forth while idling on my 1990 B2200. Any suggestions?

Are you saying you rev counter is faulty? or are you sayin the actual engine idle speed is fluctuating?

Default rpm gauge

Engine idle speed is normal. RPM gauge just bounces back and forth. when I put it in drive,it stalls out.

So an automatic.

I wonder if his idle speed is too low.

I wonder if he has stock carburetor or Weber.

I wonder if he has installed a new fuel filter in recent history.

I wonder if he has monkeyed with ignition timing.

I wonder if his spark plugs have been changed in recent history.

But I don't wonder too much.....

Don't read those like wonderments. Read those like questions. Your answers to those questions will help diagnose you problem.
