Default Removing cluster 1984 B2000

How do you unplug the cluster? DO the plugs just pull straight off? I have yanked and pulled on them, but to no avail. I am trying to remove it because the connections are loose. I believe a ground nut inside the cluster (if it is the same as the other old school clusters I have worked on) is loose causing my problem. The gauge lights will occasionally not work, until you reach around and touch the plug, getting it in the proper position. Also, while doing this, I was able to get my temperature gauge to work for a short while. It doesn't help that the PO rigged up quite a bit of the electrical (in other words, the electrical is a clusterf**k) loose plugs everywhere that have been spliced and replaced and left and....
