Hey Folks I have an 87 Mazda B2200 & need the Pre-Converter gasket that goes between the exhaust manifold & the 1st converter. Any of you know where I can get one online?

Thumbs up Dealers No Help!

Thanks for the suggestion, but our local dealer closed a few years ago after being run by a crook for a few years and then being sold to a dealer from out of state who just didn't really try to make it work. I have also e-mailed the 2 nearest dealers (Biloxi, MS. & Jackson, MS) & recieved no reply. Apparently a single gasket for an older truck isn't worth their time.

Anyway thanks to someone on another forum I was able to come up with a FEL-PRO part number that I oredered through Advanced Auto parts with a total cost of about $3.25. The FEL-PRO Part number is 60534 & I have attached a picture of the gasket setting on top of the converter just so anyone looking at this will know exactly which gasket we are talking about & that it is correct.

Thanks. 60534 helps me, turns out that can be ordered through Autozone.

I stilll haven't found a place for the air tube gasket, EXH 31548 at NAPAonline.com. Their picture is OK, but wrong gasket came in to store.

This is my favorite thing about specialty forums receiving & sharing good useable information that can easily be found & used by many.

Walkers Part Number for the air tube gasket is 31548 which is correct if you are referring to the little gasket at the base of the pre-converter for the flange of the 2 Metal Tubes that run back up to your reed valve box on the breather. I have oredered more than one of these over the years with one just purchased a couple of weeks ago for this current repair of a friends truck.

Here's a link to Walker Exhaust who have some great diagrams & lots of exhaust parts at reasonable prices. You can also get your local parts house to see if they can cross-reference numbers to ROL's number who usually have good coverage and great prices(O'Reilly's carries this brand).

My two local O'Reillys can't get this, and at the link you supplied http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/se...?keyword=31548 there was no online ordering.

However, at http://shop.oreillyauto.com/ProductD...rtNumber=31548 I apparently CAN order online, shipped to my house.

Thumbs up

Sorry that the link did not do you anygood...

My local O'Reilly's said it was a factory order that would require shipping charges but my Local Advance Auto had one in there regional warehouse & got it to me overnight with no freight charges for like $3.05...

Best of luck in aquiring one. If you can't get it locally give me a shout & i'll get another thru Advance & send it to you via USPS for the cost of the gasket & whatever postage is which shouldn't be much since it will fit in an envelope.

I re-did all my exhaust gaskets yesterday, from pre-converter down, except for that one; I have the air tubes removes, the gasket sealed a block off plate I made from a Simpson Strong-Tie from Home Depot. I just left that block off plate on (sealed using the original gasket) when I removed the pipe below the pre-converter.

Anyway, I had been experiencing a rattle issue from the exhaust. I pulled a loose "soft" ring out of the pre-converter, and a loose metal-clad ring from the 2nd converter, and buttoned it up with new gaskets. And the rattle is gone.
Pre-converter gasket on left, 2nd converter gasket on right.

I also blocked off the air pipe using the factory type gasket & a rectangular piece of steel plate. This truck has no converters after the pre, apparently someone else had previously removed them. On my personal truck i'm running a weber carb & the pace header setup with a Walker factory replacement muffler.
