Order up... Another B-2000 FE escapade.
Fuel sticks to smooth surfaces. These cheap carbs are not the best at atomization, anyway.
I think somewhere around 80 grit is about right for the intake tract. It allows it to peel off in the turbulence. Mine is grinding stone rough. Laziness I suppose...
Yes, I port match everything. I do not see a reason not to. It is near free. Makes the casting better. And might make it a little more efficient. If you do this too, nice to meet you!

Your overall thoughts are not bad but the one I wanted to mention because your 1st step port cleanup is nice. But intake runners once the air fuel mixtures get to the plenum is where the magic really happens.
Those copy cats carb actually all carbs only mix the air and fuel it your intake and ahead intake runner that does the atomization.
And I am happy to see a super DIY modder on the forum.
I come from a racing family. Between us, the truck is just something to pass the time between other endeavors. The potential is there, though.
Never had the opportunity to play or work with a flow bench. Earlier in life, I was very intrested in port theories and the like. I can understand it, but I just follow the proven techniques of others. I do actually enjoy the act of the work itself.
I get what you mean. The last couple or three inches of the runner matter most on finish. 👍
And, thanks buddy!

I don't claim to be from a racing family my older brother did race stock cars I was to young when he did that just remember his Ford. I think I was about 10-12? that rest of my family are not interested. ? I have been Drage racing since the mid 1970's and then professionally with NHRA since the late 1980's and most of the time Super Gas.S/G 9.90 But also ran Outlaw gas and fueled Alerteds and the usual ET run what you brung street vehicles.
On your intake did you consider running a Phenolic spacer between the carb and the intake? On your setup you would prevent a lot of fueling issues.

Most of my racing family are no longer here, And you sir... let me word this right...
In my opinion, racing starts in the mind. There are thought processes that make you a racer at heart. It is not a hobby, it is a way of life or a lifestyle coupled with a frame of mind. It sounds to me like you are a racer. No matter the vehicle or genre. I know racers that own no car. 😉
I have not thought about a phenolic spacer, yet. It would help in several ways, I suppose. Easily avaliable, cheap too. Sounds good to me! Even down to tightening up my throttle spring tension a little. Thanks, Buddy! A hood clearance check and I will find one.
Marine grade plywood? 😁

BTW, I do not mean a rich and successfully famous racing family. I mean, simply a family who collectively worked with racing interests.
At a single digit age, I raced Motocross when the AMA still existed. Eventually, as double digits approached, I became Honda sponsored in MX and SX. The stadium races were a blast! Purpose built tracks with intended difficulties. Followed the curve through with age into dirt track 4cyl and 8cyl and eventually dabbling with the late model series, on and off. Otherwise, just a guy with a truck!
Vale you say...😄

If anyone else is wondering, that OEM part# is F801-23-200 for the flat top F8 piston. Standard is 86mm, oversizes match the FE 2.0. It does, however, have 3 valve reliefs. ART is a big Japanese supplier, too.

So you are going to laugh my plate was white plate # 76z I earned first year racing short track and flat track.on a Honda . But the third year a very special RING DING DING , Honda . I also raced Motocross, trials and enduro on my other bikes .
From about 1995-2010 I Road raced in Super-bike class at Laguna Seca and Sear point raceway . But these days I retired professionally racing mostly because even with sponsorship and race contingencies it was still costing me a butt load every year and I just got less enthusiastic for all nighters preparing for races.
You should have a look on this thread and maybe post your own history. 👍

Unfortunately, the truck project has been postponed. Got a car to build for the wife, this week. 🫡
I will come back when it resumes. Eh, a month or two maybe... Hopefully sooner. 😏
Thanks!
