Default It's Alive!!!!!!

The good news is.........The truck does run!!!!!

In case you have not read my previous posts:

I was given a 1987 B2000 P/U

Condition:

Less than ideal

Battery dead, Took a charge just fine.

Clutch hoses good, master and slave cylinders dead

Had not Started or run in about three months (excpect for the week we bought it)

Dirty inside and out

Good body condition, little spots with rust here in there, except for tailgate.

The engine does run, with some misses until warm. Then runs just fine.

The only problem we have is the three month old fuel in the tank is stale and some vacuum lines are misplaced.

I will be going to see him tommorow to look and drive the truck back with ony luck. (depends on if the clutch is fixed.)

I will post more later.....

Default RE: It's Alive!!!!!!

I have arrived and seen the truck.....

It runs, with some issues but does fire-up first try without stalling.

Ignition swith is funky, It feels asd though it has no internal springs or detents. It basically falls into the start position and you have to turn it back manually to run. You can also remove the key in any position.

Would a new switch fix this?

Came with 2 complete sets of rims and tires in addition to the factory rims.

i am still looking for a good clear picture of where the big black hoses go from the air cleaner. I think i have the figured out.

should be a fun truck to drive, more later.
