hey guys... ive got a 1990 b2200. we just replaced the head gasket, adjusted timing, new radiator...truck is running like new...I would really like to eliminate some this spaghetti mess of hoses....how much of this emission control stuff can I wipe out?

 

For the sake of the rest of us, none! Please leave the emission controls in place so we can all breathe better.

 

Just trying to do my fair share to add balance to the world. For every one guy like me, there's at least five that want to drive a Chevy Volt.

If you buy a genuine Redline Weber carburetor kit (with Weber 32/36 DGEV) you can remove the stock carb, the EGR, and all the stuff to which you refer. I have had that carb on my 1988 B2200 for over a decade now, and have AC and aftermarket cruise control on mine (210K miles) in Arizona. Mine works great.

There are hints and tips online for installing such Weber carb, such as making sure/sanding the adapter plates absolutely flat (using a sheet of glass) to minimize chance of a vacuum leak.
