Default Hydaulic Valve lifters

I justbought a set ofhydraulic valve lifters for my '92 2600i and am confused. It said in the ad that the truck is a 12 valve motor yet the truck required only 8 lifters, which is the number I bought. Am I missing something or do I need an additional 4 lifters to replace the whole set? The problem I'm having is a lifter ticking sound going in and out while driving at slow or highway speeds. The truck has 173k on it so I just thought it was time to replace the whole set of lifters. I'm surprised how small the lifters are! I expected a bigger item than what I got. Thanks for any info!!!

did you change your lifters yet ? have you had the valve cover off ? once you remove the valve cover you'll be able to see if it's a 8 or 12 valve engine.

I just took the cover off and there is two valves per cylinder on the intake and one per cylinder for the exhaust which makes 12. Looks like I need to get 4 more! Grrr, delays, delays!!
