I picked up a nice little 89 B2200, ext cab short box. The 2.2L motor is shot though so I'm gonna swap it out to a Chevy 327 with a 2 speed powerglide (just cause I have it here).

My question is, how much power will the stock rear end take before it grenades?

I've read a few posts about guys using ford 302's so I would imagine it'll take 300hp or so before it blows up.

No one knows how much the stock rear end will take?

Someone must have done a v8 swap and figured it out the hard way.

 

I will let you guys know soon, I am swapping in a 350 sbc and keeping the stock rear end. I will let you know when it snaps or if it holds the power and torque.
