Default Got the B back

I got the B back in my possession since my stepson bought a new F250 to expand his business. He put roughly 65k miles worth of handyman lawn care mileage on the B so it has a few more bumps and bruises since I had given it to him a few years ago. I’m going to fix it back up again. We found this original window sticker for it today. I thought you guys might be interested in it.

Congrats on getting the truck back! Been there and done that with my son, but I drove from Florida to Wisconsin with a car trailer, loaded mine up, and drove back to Florida!

Those were the good old days for new vehicle prices! There might be some truth to this also.......your Mazda might still be running when your Son's new truck isn't! Buying a new reliable vehicle these days, is a crapshoot!!

Nice posting.
Love the window sticker. It’s funny how the mpg is rated and more so how it is worded back then.

I can make this thing run forever. I acquire spare parts along the way whenever I can. I have a spare rear end drum to drum, spare transmission which is functional but it needs synchronizers to be perfect. I’m going to eventually rebuild it when I run out of other projects. Got a spare wiper motor. Got a spare pressed bearing pulley thing that goes on the front of the motor. What’s the name of that part anyway? I’ve been snagging hard to find replacement stuff whenever I can.

On the initial list for fix up is AC clutch, complete lock set (already did the ignition switch) , window felts, re upolster the seat. The fabric is decent actually but the foam cushioning is beat down on the drivers side. Going to repaint the wheels back to the factory color (stepson painted them black). I have the complete set of factory trim rings and center caps so I’m good there.

There more but that’s the stuff off the top of my head. Oh yeah, I’m gonna remove the window tint he put on there. Maybe I’m weird but I hate that stuff most of the time

Additionally, he put led headlights on it and I think they’re upside down. I’m going to flip them and try to align them properly. If I can get them down out of other peoples eyes I’ll be ditching them and going back to stock headlights

Damn! Look at the charge for factory trim rings back in 1990. $479!!!! What!!!! I’m wondering what they’re worth today in good condition

1. I've installed a used AC clutch on my '88 B2200 without removing the compressor or discharging the refrigerant (mine's still R-12).

2. After finding out that my door locks could essentially be opened by ANY key, I bought a pair of door lock cylinders through Rock Auto maybe 15-20 years ago. Installation was pretty straightforward, and I don't mind having one key for the doors, and the original for the ignition/gas door cylinders.

Actually, that was for the SE-5 package, not the trim rings.

You have no idea!

You should see the parts I have gathered for these trucks over the last 30+ years! I have over 60 large plastic totes with used parts, a 5' x 12' enclosed trailer slap full, engines and transmissions everywhere, at least 10 large totes with NEW aftermarket parts that I buy when RockAuto puts them on clearance......and NEW MAZDA parts in several totes! Plus 6 or so full trucks....in case I need them. It is a sickness!
You should see my stack of 40 or so small parts trays also! I'm not really bragging....I'm just proving that I'm sick in the head!! LOL!
