Default Ford ranger 2006 wlt engine

Hello! Im looking at buying a ford ranger from 2006 with the WL-T engine and I cant find that much information about it. Ive found some forums and it seems that its a quite bad engine overall with some major issues. Im wondering if its like this in the 2006 engine aswell as its the last model with the engine.
Any input is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forums! Unfortunately I have no experience with that particular engine, so I can't offer any assistance on it......Sorry!

It alright, I bought the truck anyways! Driven it for 2 hours and am happy so far, engine is a bit thirsty for its 109 hp but since its quite heavy and I wont be driving that much Im not bothered by it.

If taken care of the WL-T is a good motor, just don't expect great speed or power.

They are getting old & showing their age.
