Default Coolant tee fitting in heater inlet hose

Does anyone have this Prestone branded coolant tee in their B series heater hose inlet?

I was chasing what I thought was an oil leak at the back of the head. Checked newly replaced valve cover gasket(proper RTV in corners) checked rear cam cap, everything is dry still after several hundred miles of driving since cleaning the area due to oil leaks from the previous valve cover gasket. No oil consumption to speak of either. Yet I noticed that I would get some fluid leaking onto the top of the automatic transmission bellhousing and off onto the ground, except it hadn't occurred to me that it was happening when I was running the heater.

In the Seattle area, this time of year you might need the heater in the mornings to help the defrost burn off some windshield condensation. Turns out it was coolant, appearing as oil due to mixing with old oil/grime that I couldn't get to with degreaser and a rag. This cap was slightly loose and would seep when running the heater. It's all good now, I just went and drove 20 uncomfortable miles with the heater blasting and after inspection it's all dry.

I imagine these didn't come from the factory with this fitting. Perhaps a dealer or service center would modify the stock heater hose and install these for a flushing machine of some sort?
I got this truck from an elderly family member after it had sat for 2 years. He doesn't remember anything about it.

That's a tee from a Prestone Flush kit.
I've used them in the past, once had the plastic tee crack and leak some on a Suburban. If you want to keep, and the tee isn't broken, tighten the two hose clamps and maybe replace the cap washer (garden hose washer) or replace with a plastic or brass garden hose cap/washer.

If you want to remove the tee, replace the heater hose or use a 5/8" plastic or metal hose connector.

Excellent thanks. It's holding so I'll keep it in for now. Whenever I replace the heater hoses I'll delete it most likely. I'd like to replace the stock radiator. I found a bunch of scale in it, but the new ones are $250-300+. I cleaned and flushed several times and it seems okay. But It's still there in the back of my head.

If you used a chemical cleaner, and flushed it properly, and the truck doesn't run hot on the highway in a half-hour drive, you're good for now. Important to bleed all the air out of the cooling system, I jack up the front end of my truck and run with radiator cap off for 20 minutes, adding 50/50 until it won't take any more.
