I just reset my timing after changing the head gasket and my carburetor is spitting fuel out. Could my timing be off. Is it possible to devout is instead of taking an air it's spitting out gas. Where is this a symbol carburetor adjustment and if so how do I do that on my 1986 b2000 original carburetor
Dirt Lodge, please look at your other post, as I responded to it first. DO NOT ADJUST YOUR FACTORY CARB!!!
Either you have your distributor installed wrong, or your timing belt is installed wrong. Did you remove the distributor from the cylinder head at any time while you were changing the head gasket?
The distributors removed and I was just talking to Mazda Mike about it The only thing that could be wrong with that is if I don't have the two notches on the distributor rotor gear lined up with the shaft of it. I've never looked at that I didn't realize that was a thing. But I'll go pull it right now and double check like I've been watching video after video of this specifically about how to time the ignition. I'm pretty ****ing sure I got it right I mean I have been just for days going it over and over and over and over and over and make sure I didn't miss a ****ing step. But I will align the teeth and the shaft and see what that does.
Here's what I did. I had this thing running and it only ran for about 30 minutes but it idle it was great and then the mechanical fuel pump arm broke off because I didn't have the spacer on there because I'm a ****ing rookie. And I didn't know that I was supposed to have a ****ing spacer on there so I fished all that **** out of the engine the oil pan all that **** got every piece of it and haven't been able to get the car running since. I set the cream shaft top dead center number one compression cycle. The timing was a little off so I remove the timing belt at that point adjusted the camshaft put the timing belt back on and then adjusted the distributor back to pointing in the right direction. Did I miss anything with that timing
OK.......lets keep the responses to your issue here in this thread. The other Mazda Mitch thread should be about the new forum, not your timing issue......thanks.
I guess yes is the answer it was removed and installed I. The same orientation it was to begin with. The orientation it was at while running previously. Let me go check that ****ing gear and shaft markings and see if they're aligned when I pull it out cuz if they're not. I mean I've been literally pumping my heart and soul in this ****ing truck for like 3 years and just can't get the ****ing thing to run again. Like I have put so much blood knuckles and sweat equity into this ****ing thing and I love it so much. I've read through the ****ing Hanes in the Chilton multiple times I don't **** know what's going on with it. But I know ****ing mechanic and this is my first project car ever I got it and just started learning as I went and I thought I was doing well cuz I got it to ****ing run and then after that arm on the ****ing fuel pump broke off it's never ran since I don't ****ing understand why.
On the B2000 engine, on the harmonic balancer, there are TWO timing marks. One is for Top Dead Center (TDC) and the other is the 6° BTDC (before top dead center) timing mark.
This old Haynes Manual picture of the B2000 engine is labeled wrong.......it should say.....(2.0L engine shown, others similar)! The pic is of a 2.0L engine.....or the B2000 engine.
