Hello I'm new here to the forums. I just picked up a real straight 89 b2600 for 500 bucks the other day and after a fuel pump and a brake line shes about ready for the road. But there is one very stupid question I'm stuck with. How in the heck do you bleed the rear brakes on these trucks? I can't seem to find a bleeder valve anywhere on it. A bit of help would be appreciated. Thanks

 

A wheel cylinder should look about like this:


and that nipple is the bleeder. It sticks out on the backing plate. It usually has a rubber dust cap on it. If yours does not have that bleeder then something is wrong, really wrong.

 

These use one bleeder valve for the rear brakes. Fluid gets routed to the passenger side (which has no bleed valve) then to driver side which does. Driver/passenger side are for USA trucks. So you just bleed once for the rear; obviously, there is a left and a right wheel cylinder.

You may also want to adjust the rear brakes manually.
