Default The Biggest speakers that'll fit in the stock location

So, I was looking through Crutchfield, for some new speakers, and subs. I had entered my Mazda, just to see what fits, and going off memory, that they were 6 1/2 in speakers. Crutchfield had one option that was the most heinous looking speaker, and frankly looks like it wouldn't hold up to what I plan on doing with the sound system in my Mazda. I wouldn't mind putting speakers in the door, however for now I want a sleek look in the interior with only the subwoofer box showing somewhat.

What is the deepest speaker, that you could cram in the dash? The one's I am looking at have a mounting depth of 2 in.

For reference, my Mazda is a '90 B2200 standard cab.

The regular cab trucks only have 4" speaker size openings......the Cab Plus does have 6.5" speaker size openings, in the rear sides, below the Cab Plus windows. I would think 2" depth on the dash speakers will be OK, but if they are a coaxial type speaker, make sure the tweeter doesn't protrude far from the cone area......if it does, your grill covers won't work!

Ahh ok. That's where I got confused. I realized after posting the original question that I had figured that they are 4 in speakers. The ones In question are coaxial. If they the tweeter does protrude out. I plan on just not running grilles or possibly making a spacer for the grills. If that's even possible.
