I have a friend/coworker that drives an '02 B2300 that's experiencing a weird auto trans problem.
Cold, the trans hesitates when shifting into 2nd gear. If on a hill, he tells me the truck slides back before finding 2nd. If he steps on the accel hard, the trans jumps into 2nd w/a bang.
Once warmed up the issue goes away.
Anyone know what's going on with it?

Well, so far. Is this the same trans you have mentioned before that is trouble in the late model 626's, Sheldon?
He and his wife had one of those too and sold it for just that reason.

 

Sorry about the lapse Rich. 2 totally different transmissions. What he should do is take it to an Aamco & have them look at it. This one is a toughy. Sounds like it is the trans though. What's the mileage on the truck?
