Sounds about right. They used to sell it seperately but that was a long time ago and they were covering half of them under warranty. Try taking it apart and cleaning it. If that does not work then you will either have to replace it or put up with the light.

I wish it was that simple... To pass the SMOG test no engine lights can be on at idle. The EGR may be wore out anyway.. Diaphram?

It is more likely a bad sensor or sticking valve from carbon accumulation. 3 bolts and 5 minutes of cleaning should tell the story.

I've got two working used B2200 EGR valves available, WAY cheaper than that (in Arizona). The valve operation of each has been checked with a hand vacuum pump; both open when vacuum is applied, and both close when vacuum is released.

The brown stuff on the one is Permatex, I can remove that with alcohol.

I removed the EGR and cleaned a coalmine of carbon out. Replaced the unit and the Check engine light now gone. I did find an uncapped vac hose on the right side of carb base. Engine appears to run the same plugged or not. The left side one disappears in a harness of its brothers. Any knowledge where the loose boy is supposed to attach to?

Not without a picture. Those have a ton of vacuum lines.

The one with the Golf Tee. Does it connect to somewhere under the Air Cleaner?
