93 B2200 intermittent sputtering while accelerating
I just bought a '93 B2200. It sputters intermittently while I am accelerating, this is especially worse when it is cold. When I first bought it, the car never really warms up, so it sputters a lot more. Since then, I changed the thermostat and it warms up much quicker and once warm the sputtering is minimal. Any idea what could be causing this?
So you think it is sparks related? Was your truck fine as soon as it is warmed up?
Oooh yeah. I say it's the wires, but really I doused the cap and everything related to the spark.
There's another product called dry'n'go or something like that.... silicone based or something. Anyway.. that's my story.
I also had an old ranger (86) and one day it quit. Burned out the module. Apparently, if a little corrosion gets between the cooling plate and the distributor, the module will overheat and fail.
I don't know if yours has that trinket or not, but I learned the 80.00 way to make sure there's silicone grease in between there.

try "intake medic" ... it's a gunk product. spray oh half a can into the air intake while someone revs the engine from 2-4 thousand rpm. i was sputtering, or what i call "misfiring" ... maybe the same thing. it's like 10 bucks, and it can't hurt. how many km on it?
