So my 87 b2000 needs a new motor and the going rate is my area is $1200, I found 1 for $700 but it has 200K miles.
What other motors will fit? I am looking for something in the $500 price range. Or is a Re-Build kit a better answer?

The only other engine that will drop right in is the 1987-1993 B2200 engine. Note that in some states and Canada that later B2200 engines were fuel-injected.

Is your engine completely dead or just smokes a lot? A used engine may also smoke, and nowadays most used engines will have a lot of miles on them. Myself, I got tired of my B2200 smoking and using oil, had it professionally rebuilt locally (over $3K).
