Default 2200 stalling troubles

Hi!
I'm new to the forum and know almost nothing about vehicles. I have a great mechanic and a great 2nd mechanic when the first one can't fit me in. I have a 91 b2200 with 107,000 miles on it.About a year agowe put in a rebuilt carbuerator. Last fall it started stalling upon start up. It starts right up (even in the 20 below winters of MN!), but then immediately kills. It continues this pattern for up to 5 minutes. I start it but as soon as I take my foot off the gas it dies. Often when I start to drive it, it will kill the first time I slow down to make a turn. Usually once it is warmed up it is fine, but not always. It will periodically kill after it is warmed up too. The mechanic has adjusted the idle, checked for vaccuum leaks, changed the fuel filter. It last had plugs, wires, rotors done about 10,000 miles ago.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

I would check to make sure the choke is working properly.

Also make sure that your EGR valve (right side of engine, three 10mm head bolts) is fully closing. An EGR that doesn't close all the way will cause stalling. I cleaned mine out in September, was undriveable due to no idling, EGR.
