Thumbs up 2.2 carburetor choke wire

I have a 1989 B2200 with 2.2 carbureted engine. The choke has a wire with a male connector that is not connected to anything. Truck runs rough and idle speed increases as engine warms up. Can anyone tell me where this wire connects to.

Choke wire plugs into the REAR of the alternator.
