1992 B2200 Coolant Temp Sensor Location
First post. Hi Everyone
I have a 1992 Fuel Injected B2200 and I cannot for the life of me locate the coolant temp sensor. I find the temp gauge sender easy enough and I have some shop manuals calling out the coolant thermosensor but the diagrams don't give a decent enough picture to see the location. I'm fairly familiar with EFI engine management and I understand the functions of all the sensors as they relate computer engine management. I'm pretty sure there has to be one somewhere. I see a sensor under the throttle body that appears to be mounted into the intake manifold. I also see a coolant hose coming out of the firewall that runs under the intake but I can't tell if it's going into the intake or the block. Is that the coolant temp sensor? There looks to be 2 sensors under there (2 connectors anyway) if so what is the other? Are there just the 2 sensors relating to coolant temp? (The gauge sender and the temp sensor) or is there a 3rd? I heard mention somewhere on the web there were 3. This is a CA truck if that makes any difference.
Thanks in advance for the help.
