Default 1991 Mazda B2200

HI, I'm new to this, anyways, I have a 1991 B2200, the engine was replaced so as they (mechanic) told me and the engine light is now on, I bought a new computer for it, because they said it's the computer and no change, now they saying I need to replace the whole wire harness because they found some cables and connectors under the steering burnt. And those two cables I need to switch to get that engine off isn't there, but the engine runs fine other then the light on. Any help would appreciated.

Thank you Lizzard.. I have to check for myself first to see if they're right. They are going to remove the whole harness tomorrow and I want to make sure it's what they said it is.

I'm not sure you understood my meaning, so I'll be more direct. Your engine is probably fine. Use electrician's tape to cover the check engine light on your gauge cluster so you don't see it if it bothers you.

Good luck.

Your engine is fine. The check engine light is there to remind you to service your truck every 20,000 miles. It's a dummy light.

Poster is likely in California and this is a fuel injected B2200, so might need to get this fixed.

Oh, yes. I see that now. Thanks.

To the OP. Your engine is fine. Pull your gauge cluster and remove the check engine light bulb. Problem solved.

Thank you.. Today they called me to come and check out the harness to took out, so upon my inspections, the harness was altered by previous user. Meaning the cut cables and tape it with thick speaker wires, allot of the cable look burnt, so i gave them the ok to replace it. But thanks for your feedback.

Hold on a minute.........These two wire connectors are not in the harness, under the Driver's side dash? They should be, and all you need to do is unplug the two connectors, and plug in the unused connector to reset the Check Engine dash light.

Take a pic of what you have and post it for us to see if you can!
