Default 1987 b2000 engine swap and hello

hello im luna got a 1987 b2000 single cab ima looking to replace my engine. my engine is a 2.0 but since it is caked w oil and grime and I want a little more power in it I was wondering if any of the mazda pickup engines from 87-93 would fit right in. More specifically I came across a 93 b2600 engine and trans I was hoping I could use those it would come w a harness and ecu would it be a plug and play or would i have to do much fabrication? I want more than 85hp so I want to be able to fit the 2.6 into it would i need to do anything crazy to make my truck fuel injected? will the engine fit? Ik i would have to get a b2600 hood for it to clear but im hoping it will sit in the same place so i can use it. I’ve tried looking for anyone who’s done something similar. Any help is appreciated thank yall

Welcome to the forum.

Yes the engine will fit, but the engine mounts are different, fuel lines/fuel pump are different, all the way back to the tank, exhaust, etc. so you will have some fabrication to do in order to swap the G6 engine into the FE B2000 truck. I know of one guy that has done it, but he is a well seasoned fabricator and mechanic. Have you looked for a B2600i truck that needs some TLC? A lot of your B2000 body parts will bolt right onto the B2600i truck.......even the flat hood in some instances.

Would u happen to know what I could just drop in to the truck of an engine that would bolt right in cuz i’m thinking just put in a 2.2 from a b2200 ? i’m very new to this and don’t wanna do to much fab work.

A B2200 (F2) engine will bolt right into the B2000 trucks.
