You might have gotten a bad switch i suppose. It is easy to test with an ohm meter. If you have trailer wiring it could be involved with that. You could also have 2 bad sockets, though unlikely. I assume it is a manual transmission. It is a pretty simple circuit. A test light and ohm meter should sort it out fairly easily.

Yea its a manual transmission and i probed the sockets and the connector that goes to the switch and no light turns on my tester but i haven't checked the switch with an ohm meter yet...but there should be power going to the connector that connects to the switch correct

I would just run the test light over them all. Takes 1 minute tops. Looking up fuse numbers is more time consuming than to just check them all.

If the fuse is blown then you might have a bad light socket. You can generally tell how bad a short is by looking closely at a blown fuse. It can have a hairline crack ( slow degradation due to higher amperage over a long period of time) or it can look like a bomb went off in the fuse (dead short) or anywhere in between. Fuses are rated 3 times the normal amperage draw of the circuit. 15 amp fuse services a 5 amp circuit, etc
