Default Water pump pulley

Is there a spacer between the hub of the waterpump on a 1987 323 and the inner face of the pulley?

I am reassembling a 87 1.6L 323 that a son took apart a few years ago and then abandoned. It had a cracked head which we replaced. Since it was apart that far I decided to put on a rebuilt water pump and new timing belt. Everythings going back together OK but when I put the pulley on the water pump and put the belt on, the water pump pulley does not like up exactly with the pulleys on the crankshaft and on the alternator. Those two seem OK but the water pump pulley is perhaps 1/8" further in than the other two. I think it is nearly scraping the plastic upper timing belt cover. Is there some sort of spacer that goes between the pulley and the hub? It is a rebuilt pump and I thought of the possibility that the hub is pressed on a little too far but doubt that is true.

Or might I have the crank pulley too far out? There were three parts that fit the crank, a thin stamped spacer, a cast pulley with the timing notch in its rim and a stamped pulley. It seemed that the spacer went on first, closest to the timing pulley, then the cast pulley and then the stamped. That wseemed to be the order from as from the paint, rust marks, oil, etc. But I am not sure and if I moved the spacer to the outside of the cast pulley instead of the inside, the cast pulley would line up better than now.

I have a Chilton's manual that covers a bunch of models and I have not found a good view showing all the parts for a 323 1.6. There is more info on 626 and 929s. Does anyone know where I can find a good exploded view of 323?

Thanks for any help. I am finding it is a little challenging to put something together that someone else took apart some time ago.

Just saw your post...

I have a 1987 323 1.6i (Sedan)... I'll go outside and have a quick look right now, and if that doesn't help I'll take some photos for you this evening.

I have Power steering, but no A/C... Still, it should help you.

Looks to me like the Water pump pulley is almost scraping the upper timing cover (unless I'm getting the parts wrong...) Certainly, it lines up with the alternator, but I can't see any spacer easily, but I'm not sure what it looks like. I'll try and get some photos this evening for you.

I have seven images... See if any of these help... If there is a better angle that you can think of, then let me know.

The alternator is on the left as I look at the engine, while the power steering pump is on the right. That should help orient you in these photos. They are mostly taken from above and close to straight on.
