Try again...
Greetings,
I have a Mazda 323 1.6i DX from 1987. I was driving it last Friday and stopped at a light. The engine died and wouldn't start again.
I tested the coil and it was good. The starter is turning the engine over. But it's not catching. I pulled the fuel filter and discovered that I had no fuel pressure. I tested the fuel pump and it appeared to be dead so I replaced it. I now have fuel pressure at the fuel filter. But the engine still isn't catching. I've connected an inductive timing gun to each of the spark plug cables and they all appear to be getting a jolt when I try and start the engine...
Is it just that there is air in the fuel lines? Is there something I'm missing? Something I should try doing?
Thanks,
Z.
