Trouble Codes for 95 626 with EEC-IV?
I have a 95 626 with the Check Engine Light or MIL on almost immediately after the negine starts (1-3 seconds). But the trouble shooting info I have found all directs me to the diagnostic plug in the fuse box by the battery and shorting the TEN and GND connections. BUT the TEN connection is not wired! In fact most of the pins are not wired as shown in any of he 626 troubleshooting info I have found.
This is 2.0L engine (not CA) and there is a Ford EEC-IV connector hanging down by the battery. So this appears to me to be the same as the Probe for that year as shown in the Haynes book. But of course it shows you how to rebuild the engine but not test the trouble codes. There is probably a better book for that but my local store does not have old stuff like this anymore so I don't know which one to get. Or even on line if the Mitchel1 or AllData stuff would be right. Any recommendations?
Was the 2.0L EEC-IV system an odd combination for the 626 in 95?
The symptoms are hesitation, rough idle and stalling when cold, and stalling when braking or turning hard under load. I think these are related to a bad MAF sensor but am reluctant to spend $150 until I at least see a code or two. I have checked obvious things like hoses for vacuum leaks, plugs, cap and wires, etc.It seems mostly related to engine load and vacuum and I figure if the MAF is sticky or sluggish or just worn out that would fit. This has been a problem for a little while. Recently the O/D light has been going on and off by itself and I can feel the trans reacting so there may be a code for that as well, so now it is more time critical to deal with. I can live with a little loss of performance but I don't want to mess up the trans (if it is not already).
If I can test this with the check engine light, its cool, but I am ok with getting a scan tool if I am sure which one. I am assuming this is an OBDI system if it is EEC-IV. But that the CP-9015 from Actron would not work since it does not cover the 2.0L engine. And the later scanners with an EEC-IV adapter cable would work. Anyone have experience with these?
Thanks for any help or advice on these issues.

A list
Is there a list of codes available? I can't find one in the forums.. and it's kinda late.. I've been searching for quite a while.
Hey, GREAT link by the way. It took me 4 days of internet searching just to find out how to put my '95 626 in diag mode. It was starting to madden me. Mad props to the guy who posted that!

They say that's for ford so if anyone feels this list of codes to be incorrect, let me know.
