Timing belt calibration
The car is a mazda 626 1994 2.0 4 cylinder engine. The problem is the timing belt. I got a repair guild for the car and calibrated the timing belt to what they suggested however it appears its not working. I went to autozone.com and ontheir sitethey had a do it yourself guild and showed a completely different setup. I figured I would register onto this forum to see if anyone had anything to offer.
Thanks,

RE: Timing belt calibration
Here are a couple of diagrams out of the factory service manual. There is a indent on the crank pulley and an arrow mark of the front of the oil pump that should be lined up. The I on Intake cam and E on exhaust cam should face each other. Don't forget to disconnect the tensioner spring before rotating the tensioner bearing out of the way for belt removal and installation or the spring will be overstretched and not provide sufficient tension on the belt.
